In älteren Voyager-Versionen musste kein Passwort eingegeben werden. Leider ist seit der Version 4.0.24.12 ein Update von einer Installation ohne Passwort nicht ohne Weiteres möglich. Um in einem solchen Fall auf die aktuelle Voyager-Version umszusteigen muss aus der laufenden Voyager-Version eine Datensicherung erstellt werden. Diese Datensicherung kann dann in die neue Version importiert werden.
Mit der Version v4.2.6 ist es nun wieder möglich eine ältere Voyager-Version, welche ohne Passwort installiert wurde, auf die aktuelle Version upzudaten. Im Grunde muss nur die .EXE und die .LNG ausgetaucht werden. Beim ersten Start wird dann gefragt ob man die Maildatenbank in das neue Datenbankformat konvertieren möchte. Nachdem dies geschehen ist kann man die aktuelle Version auch ohne Eingabe eines Passwortes nutzen. Eine Neuinstallation erfordert aber weiterhin die Definition eines Masterpasswortes.
Wer in The Bat! Voyager Plugins oder Smilies verwenden möchte, muss diese nachträglich manuell integrieren. Eine Auswahl an diversen Plugins, wie Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, oder Makro-Plugins findet man in der Rubrik Downloads.
Die Smilies müssen sich im Unterordner Default, im Images-Ordner befinden, die Datei default.msl muss ebenfalls im Ordner Images enthalten sein.

Wenn beim ersten Aufruf von TheBat! Voyager nach der "Ordner Number" (Token Activation) gefragt wird, kann auch einfach nur die Zahl '7' eingeben werden.
Diese Option betrifft nur die frühen (Beta)Versionen von Voyager. In der aktuellen Version muss Voyager regulär aktiviert werden.

Beta version of the Voyager still keeps something in the registry, but we will eliminate registry usage in the release version.

Hello Tbbeta,
This is a replacement of the EXE file, not the installer.
This version is the first version of Voyager that doesn't write to Registry at all.

Die Beta-Version v4.0.32.1 ist die erste Voyager-Version welche tatsächlich keine Einträge in die Windows-Registry schreibt.
Leider werden im Final Release v3.99.8 vom 31.05.2007 wie auch in der aktuellen Beta v4.0.24.12 vom 17.05.2008, weiterhin Einträge in die Registry geschrieben.
